This position verifies availability of Medicare days and secondary insurance as appropriate; reviews clinical medical records and other information to determine and verify appropriateness of possible admission to the facility; reviews patient with rehab physician and secures signature, date and time within 48 hours prior to the patients admission if accepted by physician for admission; ensures communication of all necessary information to members of the health care team including biographical information, clinical, financial and other information which may be needed to develop plan of care and to ensure proper level of care is planned and provided; ensures all regulatory requirements for admission are met prior to approving the resident for admission to the facility.

The Clinical Secretary performs patient related, clerical support functions to assist nursing staff in providing patient care.  Under close supervision, the Clinical Secretary maintains patient charts, enters orders, schedules test and treatments, files results and coordinates charges using computer systems; performs related clerical duties.  The Clinical Secretary demonstrates the knowledge and skills to communicate in a manner appropriate to the ages of those served.  Routinely, the Clinical Secretary communicates with all age groups.

Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill - South Jackson Street currently has two (2) In-Patient Coder positions available in our HIM (medical records) Department.  These positions reviews electronic and paper medical records for pertinent diagnoses and procedures.  Assigns diagnoses code and operative procedures on inpatient, same day surgery, observation, minor procedures records in accordance with established guidelines.  Uses both ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding methodologies as well as utilizes the 3M Encoder.

The Food Service Worker performs a variety of tasks and services in the preparation, distribution, serving of food, and cleaning of equipment and areas used in performing these tasks.  Food Service Workers are assigned to work in patient food preparation and delivery, in the cafeteria, or utility (cleanup) area for a shift.  The Food Service Worker demonstrates the knowledge and skill to communicate in a manner appropriate to the ages of customers and patients served.

The Nurse Practitioner provides care across the health care continuum with emphasis on the promotion of health, the prevention of disease, and the early detection and treatment of disease.  The Nurse Practitioner demonstrates the knowledge and skill to provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served, including growth and development, assessment and interpretation of age specific data, treatments and communications.  The Nurse Practitioner cares for infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients.

Description

Under the direction of the Team Leader and/or Charge Nurse, the Nurse’s Aide assists in the treatment and care of the patient while following hospital established policy and procedure.
