The billing clerk contacts appropriate insurance carriers prior to admission for verification of coverage and any necessary procedures for billing; assists with bills for patient services to appropriate payer sources both manually and electronically; completes deposits of accounts receivable to depository account through check scanner and daily deposit and post to patient account; answers inquiries regarding patient accounts receivable and accounts payable; prepares needed information for IOD for medical records requests; prepares fee review information according to Dept of Labor procedures; submits data as requested by billing supervisor for end of month processes.

The Health Information Management (HIM) Campus Manager assists the Network HIM Directors by monitoring the day-to-day operations of the on-site HIM department activities.  The HIM Campus Manager keeps the Network HIM Directors apprised of any unexpected or difficult situations needing immediate attention by acting as a liaison with customers of the HIM department.  Assists the Network HIM Directors with capital and operational budgets, bench marketing, and scorecard data submission.  Ensures turnaround time and compliance of HIM functions to meet departmental and organizational goals by implementing efficient processes and assessing staff performance.

Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill - South Jackson Street currently has two (2) In-Patient Coder positions available in our HIM (medical records) Department.  These positions reviews electronic and paper medical records for pertinent diagnoses and procedures.  Assigns diagnoses code and operative procedures on inpatient, same day surgery, observation, minor procedures records in accordance with established guidelines.  Uses both ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding methodologies as well as utilizes the 3M Encoder.

Description

Under the direction of the Team Leader and/or Charge Nurse, the Nurse’s Aide assists in the treatment and care of the patient while following hospital established policy and procedure.
