This position performs a variety of clerical and direct patient care duties including scheduling and preparing patients for examinations by physician or nurse practitioner as well as performs phlebotomy, EKG, blood pressures, temperatures, etc.. as appropriate for patients of all age groups including pediatric and geriatric clients.
The Clinical Documentation Specialist is responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation in the medical records to reflect the severity of illness, clinical treatment, decisions and diagnoses of patients. This position involves concurrent medical record review as well as education and interaction with physicians, HIM Coders and others involved in the care of the patient.
Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill - South Jackson Street currently has two (2) In-Patient Coder positions available in our HIM (medical records) Department. These positions reviews electronic and paper medical records for pertinent diagnoses and procedures. Assigns diagnoses code and operative procedures on inpatient, same day surgery, observation, minor procedures records in accordance with established guidelines. Uses both ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding methodologies as well as utilizes the 3M Encoder.
The Financial Analyst provides financial and statistical information to management, staff, and external customers in compliance with internal and external requirements by efficiently accessing the organization’s financial and decision support systems and through effectively analyzing and verifying the inputs and outputs from those systems. Maintains financial records and systems in accordance with GAAP, Hospital policies and the Healthcare Audit Guide. Interacts with staff, management, and other customers in a friendly, courteous, and helpful manner.
The Food Service Worker performs a variety of tasks and services in the preparation, distribution, serving of food, and cleaning of equipment and areas used in performing these tasks. Food Service Workers are assigned to work in patient food preparation and delivery, in the cafeteria, or utility (cleanup) area for a shift. The Food Service Worker demonstrates the knowledge and skill to communicate in a manner appropriate to the ages of customers and patients served.
The Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician obtains specimens from patients, performs diagnostic testing on specimens, records results of testing, verifies final test results, and reports results of testing in accordance with established protocol; demonstrates the knowledge and skill to provide care appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including growth and development, assessment, and interpretation of age specific date; routinely cares for infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients.
The Nurse Practitioner provides care across the health care continuum with emphasis on the promotion of health, the prevention of disease, and the early detection and treatment of disease. The Nurse Practitioner demonstrates the knowledge and skill to provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served, including growth and development, assessment and interpretation of age specific data, treatments and communications. The Nurse Practitioner cares for infants, children, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients.
Under the direction of the Team Leader and/or Charge Nurse, the Nurse’s Aide assists in the treatment and care of the patient while following hospital established policy and procedure.
The Nursing Supervisor assumes the responsibility and authority for the safe and efficient operation of the Hospital during their respective shift; acts as a liaison between Hospital and staff, physicians, family and visitors, outside agencies and community resources; acts as a role model to staff through courtesy, respect and helpfulness in all interactions.
This position ensure patients and families are greeted and scheduled by obtaining and/or verifying demographic/clinical/financial/insurance information in the process of registering patients for service delivery, which includes the entry of patient/guarantor information in the patient accounting system, and patient signatures are collect on all appropriate forms and the imaging/copying of registration documents. The Patient Access Associate will ensure signed physician orders are obtained and processed along with online insurance eligibility/benefits verification conducted on designated cases with notification to patient/guarantor, collection of patient liabilities, and referring appropriate cases to financial counseling for follow up and consolation.
The Physician Assistant will have successful patient medical and surgical intervention under a physician's supervision in multidisciplinary fields of medicine as well as work efficiently and effectively as a team member in the Physician Assistant Department and Surgical Services to achieve designed goals of patient care excellence.
